These are the Ann Arbor Fairy Doors! Tiny, dainty, decorated doors have been popping up all over the city in various locations for as long as we can remember. Today, you can find these charming, artistic, miniature doors at\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/michtheater.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"3\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The Michigan Theater<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\">,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/aadl.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"4\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Ann Arbor District Library<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\">,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theark.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"5\"><span lang=\"en-US\">The Ark<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\">,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nicolasbooks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"6\"><span lang=\"en-US\">Nicola\u2019s Books<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0and at least four other documented locations in town. The group of decorated tunnels and walls is tucked behind a hidden entrance\u00a0off of\u00a0Liberty Street. Stop by and explore it\u2014or even bring a can of spray paint to add your mark to the wall as well! The most unique aspect of The Wave Field is the way the appearance changes depending on the time of day and time of the year. In the mid-1980&#8217;s, Domino\u2019s owner Tom Monaghan asked Taliesin Associated Architects (the inheritors of Frank Llyod Wright\u2019s practice) to erect a structure based on an unbuilt tower that Wright designed in 1986 for Chicago called the Golden Beacon. After company restructuring, Domino\u2019s headquarters architect Gunnar\u00a0Birkets\u00a0took over the project, designing a tower that would rise at a 15-degree angle. While the tower was a serious project, many started to refer to it jokingly as \u201cThe Leaning Tower of Pizza\u201d and it never wound up being built. A\u00a050-foot tall\u00a0scale model still stands at the proposed site on Domino\u2019s Pizza headquarters here in Ann Arbor. You can catch a glimpse of it from Ave Maria Drive.<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2><span lang=\"en-US\">Take a ghost tour of the University of Michigan<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<span lang=\"en-US\">Founded in 1817 as one of the first public universities in The United States, it\u2019s no surprise that many of the buildings at the University of Michigan are supposedly haunted. You can take a spooky night tour of these haunted sites with a local guide and expert. The tour meets on the University of Michigan campus and will take you through the most haunted buildings in the area\u2014including in downtown Ann Arbor.
